Farm animals like pigs provide vital income for poor families. Our long-term agriculture and environment programs focus on helping communities grow nutritious food, generate income and protect and revive their environments.
Farmers receive seeds, tools and training to help them harvest new and improved crops. Livestock distribution and breeding projects give families new sources of nutritious food and income. These activities go hand in hand with education for families on food storage and nutrition, and support for farmers to successfully market surplus produce.
World Vision promotes sustainable farming practices and helps communities carry out environmental protection and regeneration projects that include reforestation, natural re-vegetation and the use of energy-saving household items like fuel-efficient stoves.
